Making your child's NDIS plan actually work

Kids Connect Therapy is a registered NDIS provider. We work with plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed plans.

Getting an NDIS plan approved is only the first hurdle. A lot of the Dandenong North families we see arrive with a plan they don't fully understand, funding they're not sure how to spend, and a nagging worry that they're doing it wrong. Some have had funding sit unused for a year.

Things we can help you make sense of:

  • What your plan actually funds, and which budget line therapy comes from
  • How many sessions your funding realistically covers, so there are no surprises in month eight
  • What service agreements mean and what you're committing to
  • Reports for your plan review — we write these, and we write them to be useful rather than to tick a box
  • What happens if funding runs out early, and what the options are

We'll give you a clear picture of costs before you commit to anything. If your funding is better spent elsewhere, we'll say so.

What's changing in 2028

From 1 January 2028, children aged 8 and under with developmental delay and/or autism and low-to-moderate support needs will be supported through the new Thriving Kids program instead of the NDIS. Children with higher or permanent support needs stay on the NDIS.

Thriving Kids starts rolling out in Victoria from 1 October 2026. If your child has a plan now, nothing changes yet — but it's worth understanding early.

Questions from Dandenong North families

We have NDIS funding but haven't used it. Have we lost it?
Unused funding generally doesn't roll over to the next plan, so it's worth acting. Call us and we'll help you work out what's available and how far it goes.

Our plan is NDIA-managed. Can we still see you?
Yes — we're a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with NDIA-managed plans as well as plan-managed and self-managed.

Can you write our plan review report?
Yes. We write reports for plan reviews and reassessments as a standard part of what we do.
