Our treatment approach at Kids Connect therapy is influenced by the Developmental Individual Relationship based DIR®/Floortime™ Model.
This model is a framework of development that helps families and therapists design comprehensive therapy programs tailored to meet the specific challenges and strengths of each child. Through understanding your child’s unique preferences and individual differences, the model aims to help families and therapists create strong, natural foundations for all learning. The model outlines that interaction is the key to children’s learning. Strong interactions occur when children’s natural emotions, individual preferences, interests and relationships are acknowledged and used within intervention. This is how typical development occurs and intervention should mirror typical development.
